*James Meredith- He is an American civil rights movement leader. He was the first African American student admitted to the segregated Ole Miss. Meredith was motivated to exercise his constitutional rights. His goal was to put pressure on the Kennedy administration to enforce certain civil rights for African Americans.
*Jackie Robinson- Jackie Robinson started in the American Baseball League before he became the first African American to play in the MLB. Robinson broke the color barrier when the Brooklyn Dodgers started him in 1947. Robinson had many achievements including: winning a World Series, selected to 6 consecutive all-star games, won the rookie of the year award, and won the National League MVP award in 1949.
